We are incredibly proud and humbled to share that Proaction Martial Arts® has been named “Sports Community Initiative of the Year 2024” at the Sports and Leisure Awards, hosted by Business Awards UK. This recognition is a testament to our team’s hard work and our deep-rooted commitment to fostering lifelong learning, character development, and community well-being through martial arts and fitness.

From our beginnings in 2002, under the guidance of Chief Instructor Master Tom Nicholson, we’ve grown into one of England’s most respected martial arts schools. With 85 weekly classes spread across 15 clubs in East England, we offer a wide range of programs—from Taekwon-Do and Kickboxing to fitness training—tailored to meet the needs of individuals of all ages and abilities. But our mission goes far beyond teaching martial arts techniques; it’s about empowering individuals to build life skills, self-discipline, and resilience that extend well beyond the training hall.

Receiving the Sports Community Initiative of the Year award is a profound honour, and it highlights the passion and dedication we put into impacting our community. Through initiatives like our Junior Leadership program and numerous charity events, we’ve created a supportive and inclusive environment where people from all walks of life can thrive. For us, holistic development—where personal growth is just as important as physical achievement—is at the heart of everything we do.

Master Tom Nicholson expressed it best when he said, “This award reflects our deep commitment to our community. We’re devoted to creating a positive and nurturing environment where every member feels valued and supported on their journey, both on and off the mat. Our goal is to continue integrating into the wider community and to share our mission with as many people as possible.”
