At Proaction Martial Arts, we believe in more than just martial arts. We believe in people. In connection. In community. That’s why we were proud to take part in Wear It Green Week as part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 — joining individuals and organisations across the UK in raising awareness and support for mental wellbeing.
This Year’s Theme: Community 💬
The official theme for Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 is community — a perfect fit for everything we stand for at Proaction. Community is at the heart of what we do. It’s what keeps our students motivated, helps our instructors grow, and gives families a place where they feel truly supported.
Martial arts is a powerful tool for improving mental health — but it’s not just about the moves. It’s about the people beside you. The ones cheering you on, holding you accountable, and helping you get back up when life gets tough.
We see that every day in our classes.
Why We Wore Green 💚🥋
During Wear It Green Week, students and staff proudly wore green to show their support for mental health awareness. It was a visual reminder that mental health matters, and that no one has to struggle alone.
For our younger students, it opened up conversations about emotions, confidence, anxiety, and support. For adults, it was a chance to reflect on how martial arts — and community — have helped them in their personal journeys.
These are not small things. They are life-changing.
Martial Arts and Mental Health: A Natural Match
At Proaction, we teach lifelong learning and character development. These values help our students become not just stronger physically, but more resilient mentally.
✅ Martial arts helps reduce anxiety through movement
✅ It boosts confidence through progress and discipline
✅ It fosters belonging through community and shared goals
In a world where mental health challenges are on the rise, we’re proud to offer an environment where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered.
Our Community in Action
Our community doesn’t just talk about support — we live it.
Earlier this year, we raised funds for KidsAid, a Northampton-based charity supporting children impacted by trauma and mental health struggles. Our students and families turned up in force — walking, donating, and helping spread the word.
And most recently, the strength of our community shone again at the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards, where our founder Jas won Business Leader of the Year (Public Vote) thanks to YOUR support. That win belongs to the whole Proaction family.
Together, We’re Stronger 💪
Mental health affects everyone. But with community, the burden becomes lighter. Through our shared values of respect, integrity, professionalism, and a deep care for one another, we continue to build something truly special at Proaction.
Thank you to every student, parent, instructor, and supporter who wore green with us. Your support means everything — not just this week, but every single day.
